The Musée international d'horlogerie first opened its doors on the 21st October 1974. The museographical shock experienced by its first visitors is still resonates today. Crossing the footbridge, visitors are impressed by the hushed atmosphere, soft lighting and display cases - all fully original - in which the treasures of the collection are exhibited.

The permanent exhibition can be viewed in a variety of ways. Visitors can follow routes based on three different criteria:

  • a historical route based on the technical and artistic development of the timepieces,
  • a constantly updated discovery of treasures from the collection,
  • themed spaces covering more specific issues concerning the measurement of time.
