Terms and Conditions of Sale

This translation is provided for informational purposes only. In the event of any dispute, the French version shall prevail.

The International Museum of Horology (MIH), an institution of the City of La Chaux-de-Fonds operating under the Department of Education, Culture and Integration, sets forth the present Terms and Conditions of Sale (the “T&Cs”). The MIH reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.

These T&Cs apply without restriction to the purchase of admission tickets, museum services such as guided tours, workshops and private events, access to events organized by the MIH, and the purchase of items from the museum shop. By purchasing any ticket, product or service, the purchaser acknowledges having read and accepted these T&Cs, which form an integral part of each transaction.

Ticket Purchase and Validity

The MIH strives to provide a professional and high-quality service. However, it cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to its systems and shall not be held liable for damages resulting from technical failures, system interruptions or unauthorized third-party actions.

Tickets may be purchased online, at the museum ticket desk, through authorized partners, or via officially licensed platforms. Any ticket obtained through unauthorized channels may be refused. Prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF) and include VAT where applicable.

The MIH reserves the right to verify the validity of tickets at the entrance using electronic controls. Each ticket is valid for a single admission and must be retained throughout the visit. Resale, duplication or unauthorized reproduction is strictly prohibited.

Cancellations, Postponements and Force Majeure

Tickets are, in principle, neither refundable nor exchangeable. The MIH reserves the right to modify event programs at any time without entitlement to compensation.

In the event of postponement, tickets remain valid only for the rescheduled date. Should an event be cancelled, the MIH reserves the right to determine whether refunds or exchanges will be granted.

The MIH shall not be held liable for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, public health emergencies, governmental restrictions, strikes or other cases of force majeure.

Access, Conduct and Security

Admission is subject to presentation of a valid ticket and compliance with security procedures. Visitors must follow the instructions of museum staff and security personnel at all times.

Weapons, explosive or flammable substances, drones, animals (unless authorized), and professional recording equipment are prohibited unless prior approval has been granted. The MIH reserves the right to deny entry or remove any person whose behavior disrupts the event or fails to comply with these T&Cs, without compensation.

Image and Audio Recording

Audio, video or photographic recordings are permitted for private use only unless otherwise authorized. Visitors entering the premises consent to being photographed or filmed for communication purposes without compensation.

Intellectual Property

All content published by the MIH, including exhibitions, texts, images and multimedia materials, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Any reproduction or use without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.

Data Protection

Personal data is collected solely for the purpose of delivering MIH services and is treated confidentially. Data will not be disclosed to third parties except where necessary for service provision or where required by law. Applicable data protection legislation remains reserved.

Limitation of Liability

The MIH shall not be held liable for direct or indirect damages arising from participation in events, use of its services or reliance on information published on its website, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

The MIH does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or uninterrupted availability of the information provided.

Amendments

The MIH reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Should any provision be deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain fully effective.
